Dive Into this Reimagined Legendary Journey: A Complimentary Demo for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Lands Shortly.

Enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the arrival of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined won't have to wait too much longer. A highly anticipated demo version is set to become available on the seventh of January, offering a substantial look into the game's initial chapters. Importantly, any save data achieved within this demo will be able to be imported directly into the full game upon its February launch.

More Than a Simple Remake: A Thorough Reimagining

This project represents a ground-up reimagining of the landmark 2000 JRPG, initially known as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Taking a significant departure from recent series remakes, like the recently released HD-2D versions, this reimagining adopts a striking three-dimensional visual presentation. The world appear to look like detailed miniature worlds, with party members having a appealing toy-like look.

"Taking into account the 3DS remake, the narrative was remained exceptionally extended. Consequently, the team came to a decision that we wanted to condense the story, [and] craft an experience for contemporary audiences."

Key Mechanical Changes & Modernizations

The development team have implemented numerous modernizations to streamline the original experience. These include:

  • Streamlined Field Battles: Inspired by contemporary role-playing games, low-level foes are now dispatched directly on the field without initiating a separate traditional combat screen.
  • Adjustable Battle Speed: Players have the option to accelerate combat animations to quickly get past simpler fights.
  • New Vocation System: A brand new character role was added for this reimagining. Additionally, characters gain the option to take on a second job, greatly enhancing strategic options.

Such alterations seek to address one of the original game's common criticisms: its daunting scope. That initial adventure could easily take over 100 hours to complete. The reimagined edition has been expressly structured to refine progression and reduce any repetition.

Mark Your Calendars: Demo & Final Release Information

It will be available on a wide selection of platforms, including Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
